ONGOING PROJECTS
INTRODUCING OUR NEWEST PROJECT:
Kiwanis Caring 4 Kids
Clothes for Kids -
Hygiene Bags -
Comfort Packs
Our pilot program at Palm View K-8 School will focus on meeting critical needs of children while at school and during school breaks.
Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis is helping to stock a clothes closet at the school so that when children show up without the proper school uniform, they can quickly return to class without missing any lessons. This will also help build self-esteem and confidence and avoid teasing and embarrassment.
Middle school children often have hygiene needs that are not being met at home. Items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine items, shampoo etc. are needed by some children that don’t have homes or can’t afford such items at their homes. Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis will have items at school that a child may need during the school day and to take home.
Remember looking forward to school breaks when you were a child? Did you know there are children that dread school breaks because they have no food at home? They miss those school meals, and even the structure, guidance and fellowship they get at school. Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis provides packs of food for those in need to get them through the school break during the fall, winter and spring breaks.

Every year for over 30 years our club has held a toy drive in Northwest Bradenton to collect toys, diapers for SOLVE Maternity Homes, and food for St. Joseph Food Pantry. We are joined each year by the DeSoto Crewe and their float, and Santa Claus!

Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis holds a baby shower each year to benefit the SOLVE Maternity Homes to provide them with much needed items for their resident mothers and mothers-to-be as they help them to become independent and prepare them for motherhood.
Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis provides backpacks and supplies for children in need at the start of the school year.

Manatee County Fair Corndogs
The Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis Club has been serving their secret-recipe hand-dipped corn dogs at the Manatee County Fair for over 50 years. This is the club’s largest fundraiser of the year and supports their many service projects.

BUG Program
The Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis Club incentivizes and recognizes elementary school children who work hard to maintain or bring up their grades. They are recognized with a ceremony and a certificate.

One of Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis Club's fundraising events is our Cornhole and Cocktails event, featuring an indoor Cornhole Tournament and food and drink samples from many local restaurants, distilleries and breweries. We also feature a raffle of a major prize and many items in our Silent Auction. Come out for the fun! See the special page for more information on date and tickets!
